I love sketching, I find it improves my drawing and observational skills. I belong to the Cambridge Urban Sketching (USK) group and we meet up once a month. I also jointly run the sketching group with Cambridge Drawing Society.

So once or twice a month I take by sketching stool, and pack my sketchbook, pencil, ink pens, water-based coloured pencils and a small time of watercolours and head out into town. You may have seen me but as I am very focussed I don't tend to notice people watch what I am doing.

Here are a few of my sketches. I have many sketchbooks full of drawings and sometimes I sell them.

During Covid my sketching kept me busy and sane! On the second and third lockdowns I made a drawing every day (during the first lockdown the weather was beautiful and I updated my garden.)

I didn't realise until afterwards that those sketches I made were a history of an unusual time, and I made them into a two books. You can buy them here.
