I am always delighted when Byard Art, a wonderful gallery on King's Parade in Cambridge, have my paintings in their gallery. Four of them are in their Summer Exhibition which ends on September 6.
The painting I am holding is titled 'Geneviève and her Parrot'. Painted in oil with copper leaf, it is based on some of the images in medieval art which I love. I drew lots from some of the original manuscripts kept at the Parker Library, Corpus Christi in Cambridge.
I named the lady, Genevieve and based the creatures on my drawings. The rabbits are always a big part of medieval art and can often be found in the margins being rather playful.
Sorry about the rather strong pink on my hair!
