My Tree of Birmingham is one of a series I have painted.

In the tree are some of the icons that I associate with the city. These include Cadbury's, Bird's Custard and the Old Crown public house.

On the right is a new icon made for the Commonwealth Games - the Raging Bull.

The sculpture was built just for the games where people moved it mechanically to rage to the delight of the crowds. Destined to be discarded after the games, the city people demanded it be kept and a long period followed where it was strengthened whilst a permanent place was found for it to be on show.

The Raging Bull makes everyone smile and the residents of Birmingham are very proud of their sculpture and the refences to the engineering background of the city.

A firm of solicitors loved this painting and asked if I could add their logo and change a couple of the symbols to represent the companies they worked for. I did this and the painting is now in one of their offices rooms where they meet their clients.
