Cambridge Drawing Society
From 01-04-2017 to 08-04-2017
The annual exhibition for members of Cambridge Drawing Society takes place at the Pitt Building, Cambridge CB2 1RP. The society was founded in 1882 and the standard is very high.
This year I have 3 paintings on the walls and 2 mono prints in the racks. I have included one painting based on my studies at the Parker Library at Corpus Christi. I just love this place as it is full of some very old manuscripts. Here I can sit and study some of the most delightful illuminated manuscripts. Quirky and beautifully painted they measure about 4 x 5 cms.
The one exhibited I have called Bird Bath and I have added trees, a night sky and a multitude of small flowers and leaves to make it my own.
Open 10 to 5 from 1 to 8 April

Winter Open Studios
From 26-11-2016 to 27-11-2016
I am joining Carmen Renwick and Diana Kazemi for this years Winter Studio.
Stuck for a seasonal gift? Come along to our Winter studio at the Dovecote, 5 Church Street, Cambridge Cb4 1DT for a glass of mulled wine and see what these three artists have been creating.
Diana makes wonderful pottery, cups, vases, honey jars, cutlery holders and a superb collection of ceramic jewellery.
Carmen has some beautiful illustrated cards and prints for sale.
I have paintings, prints, scarves and some wacky sheep, plus I have my sketch books and a new painting based on my research on Medieval manuscripts at the Parker Library. Also my printer, who makes my limited edition prints, has just made a sample of my Tree of Cambridge on canvas. I love it but I want to hear what you think.
...still stuck for a present? How about an art voucher for a 2 hour session on acrylic or watercolour painting techniques?

A charity event to raise money for Cambridge Timebanking. A wonderful idea where people can exchange time by trading their skills.
250 artists have donated a canvas which will be sold to raise money for this charity. The exhibition will be held in Kings College, Cambridge on 18 and 19 November. It will continue at alternative venues around Cambridge.
Fourteen of my art students are taking part in this exhibition and they have made some amazing paintings one of which is shown here. You can see their work on the www.facebook.com/CambridgeArtClasses Facebook page or on my Cambridge Art classes website.

RUNNING WITH BRUSHES
From 14-04-2016 to 08-05-2016
I am delighted to have been asked to exhibit at the Plough in Shepreth as part of a Running with Brushes exhibition.
Running With Brushes is a charity project launched by Vandy Massey in July 2013. It started as a slightly off-the-wall idea to see if she could paint and sell 1000 postcard size paintings to make £10,000 for Care for Casualties. As an extension of the project Vandy is staging an exhibition of other artworks in the gallery at The Plough.
Instead of the traditional preview evening, there will be two ticketed events on Thursday 14th and Thursday 21st April. These events will be called A Night of 100 Paintings and will showcase the work of the participating artists as well as the postcard-sized watercolours which form part of the online Running With Brushes project. The small watercolours will only be on show during those two events and not for the rest of the exhibition time. There will be live music at the event.
It would be lovely to see you there
